The Church Lab for Microbial Biogeochemistry and Ecology is now based at the
Flathead Lake Biological Station, a center at the
University of Montana.
Research in our lab focuses on microbes that catalyze biogeochemically important processes in aquatic ecosystems, including transformations of carbon and nitrogen in the ocean, lakes, and streams. Using both traditional biogeochemical and molecular techniques, we are particularly interested in the dynamics and climate-sensitivities of microbial communities.
