Thank you for considering an investment in the future of our waters!
Since 1899, FLBS has been recognized as Sentinel of the Flathead Watershed, fulfilling its mission to serve the region, the state of Montana, the nation, and the world by advancing cutting-edge research, monitoring, education and outreach platforms for limnology, ecology, and environmental science from its facility at Yellow Bay.
The Bio Station is excited to announce FLBS125: An Anniversary Initiative to celebrate the 125th anniversary of its founding. Throughout the multi-year initiative, the Bio Station will reflect on its scientific legacy and accomplishments over the past 125 years while also announcing new ambitions that will advance innovative FLBS aquatic science, monitoring, education and outreach programs in the century to come.
Support the continuity of our 125-year legacy of Flathead Lake research and monitoring! Your continued generosity helps ensure our pristine Flathead Watershed waters remain beautiful, clean, and clear.
Monitoring Montana Waters (MMW) is an FLBS program that provides scientific expertise and guidance to citizen-led watershed monitoring groups to better understand and protect the world-renowned waters of Montana.
Help provide critical ecological information about local and global ecosystems and their interactions with society. Current priorities include Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring using environmental DNA, and our long-term river and floodplain research on the Middle Fork Flathead.
Help a deserving student with a scholarship. Training future scientists is a critical part of the FLBS mission. By contributing to the Student Support Fund, you can impact a deserving student's life.
