Jacob joined the FLBS in May 2024 as a Master's student under the advisement of Dr. Rachel Malison and Dr. Ben Colman. He is studying the patterns in metal concentration in streams and their effects on macroinvertebrate communities following wildfire. Originally hailing from the great Prairie State where he obtained his B.S. from the University of Illinois, Jacob has since traveled broadly around the U.S., holding numerous positions in wildlife biology. Now settled in Northwest Montana, he plans to pursue his extracurricular passions of fly fishing, backpacking, and gardening in between his studies on freshwater ecology and conservation.
