I am a phytoplankton ecologist in the Elser Lab. My research focuses on the impacts of nutrient limitations on planktonic organisms and communities in different ecosystems, ranging from alpine snow fields to shallow-lakes and coastal seas. I am combining highly-controlled laboratory experiments with field sampling campaigns to determine how (phyto)plankton and their corresponding traits and ecosystem functions will be impacted by changing environmental conditions.
