The world-renowned blue waters of Flathead Lake are the foundation of our region's quality of life and a major driver of northwest Montana's economy. The FLBS Business Community recognizes the strong connection between a healthy watershed and the businesses, residents, and visitors who depend on it. By partnering with FLBS, your business helps support scientific research, education, and stewardship of one of Montana's most valuable natural resources while demonstrating a commitment to our community and environment.
Protecting Flathead Lake from aquatic invasive species, declining water quality, and other environmental threats is a responsibility we all share. An invasive mussel infestation alone has the potential to cost Montana more than $230 million annually in economic losses and mitigation expenses, with significant impacts to recreation, tourism, infrastructure, and shoreline property values. Aquatic invasive species are just one example of the challenges FLBS is monitoring through its world-class research and long-term environmental observation programs.
Healthy waters support healthy communities, thriving businesses, and a strong regional economy. The generous support of the FLBS Business Community helps ensure that Flathead Lake and its watershed remain resilient now and for future generations. Together, we can protect the natural resources that make this region extraordinary and keep our treasured waters BLUE for years to come.
Make a difference. Be the Difference.
