Launching Our New Instagram Page
Paige here with the Montana Pesticide Stewardship Partnership Program (MT PSPP)! In April, the PSPP team has been hard at work putting the final touches on our 2026 Monitoring Plan, expanding on our outreach materials, and launching a new expansion to the program!
We also attended the Grand Opening of Montana Department of Agriculture's brand-new pesticide container recycling station in Polson, MT, funded in part by our EPA Columbia River Basin Restoration Grant. Looking foward to May, we are excited to get out in the field next week and begin engaging volunteers!
Big news! In mid-April, both PSPP and MMW at FLBS launched a brand new joint Instagram account, @monitoringmontanawaters! This account will serve as an additional avenue of education and outreach for both water quality monitoring programs, as well as additional activities by the Malison lab here at FLBS. Follow along to discover the inside scoop on monitoring, volunteer opportunities, watershed education, & other fun content!
On the subject of education and outreach, the PSPP team and our E+O committee have been brainstorming new materials to target specific audiences and community needs. We have also begun sending out monitoring summaries to landowners, community members, and natural resource professionals. These monitoring summaries are the first-ever communication of our monitoring findings, and we are excited to continue developing new materials to share pesticide monitoring data collected from our surface waters with our broader community and on our website.
Stay tuned next week via @monitoringmontanawaters for a behind-the-scenes look into a brand-new season of fieldwork and what the PSPP team is up to.
