The Flathead Lakers, MMW Group, Hosts Science on Tap Event
Earlier this March, the Flathead Lakers, a Monitoring Montana Waters (MMW) group, hosted the Science on Tap event. The Flathead Lakers invited Torrey Ritter, a nongame wildlife biologist and lands specialist focused on beaver restoration, to speak at the event. The event had a fantastic turnout, and many people in the community learned how beaver restoration can improve drought tolerance on our lands.
Our watersheds are deeply interconnected, and every species plays a key role in maintaining the health of our watersheds and water quality. Understanding this empowers us, as a community, to come together for a common cause of improving our watershed health.

Looking ahead in April, both the Monitoring Montana Waters (MMW) and Pesticide Stewardship Partnership Program (PSPP) are launching a joint Instagram account! This is an exciting development for both programs led by Dr. Rachel Malison, and we are thrilled to add an additional avenue to help spread the message of “Monitoring Montana Waters”.
