Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Where should I park when I arrive?

FLBS provides visitor parking to either side of the main drive before arriving at the Elrod Building.  Handicapped parking is available north of the Elrod Building main door.  Additional parking is available to the east of the Elrod Building main door and the employee parking lot.

See the FLBS Grounds Map for more information.

Are pets allowed at FLBS?

No pets are allowed at FLBS. Service animal (SA) and emotional support animal (ESA) requests may be allowed if approved in advance with the UM Disability Services office, (406) 243-2243.

Is there a charge for cancelling or rescheduling my reservation?

A 20% cancellation fee applies to all group lodging and conference room reservations canceled less than 30 days prior to the event. If participant numbers decrease and some lodging reservations are canceled less than 30 days prior to the event, 20% of the cost of those rooms will be included in the final invoice.

I plan to cook meals for my group. Are plates and utensils provided?

Please bring your own recyclable plates, utensils, and cups as we do not provide these.  We do offer 40-cup coffee percolators and filters, but we do not provide coffee. A medium-to-coarse ground coffee is appropriate for these coffee makers.

Note that groups of 10+ must reserve kitchen facilities as part of their group reservation in order to prepare food for the group.

Who do I contact with questions after hours?

On call information is displayed on a whiteboard on the Elrod Building front door.

Do the cabins have electricity?

Yes, all rooms have electrical outlets and a heater but no fan.

What do I need to bring for my overnight stay at FLBS?

We supply a blanket, pillow, sheets and a towel. We have onsite washers/dryers. We do not supply soap, shampoo or personal toiletries. Dress in layers, as evenings may be cold and weather can change quickly. Cabins are heated and have electrical outlets. It is also recommended to bring a flashlight or head lamp if you are staying in a cabin, as bathroom facilities are a short walk from each cabin and trails are not lighted.

During summertime stays, some guests have brought fans, but we do not provide them.

When is check in / check out?

Check in time is generally 2 pm, unless a different time has been arranged with FLBS.

Check out time is 11 am.

Are visitors allowed for guests with existing reservations?

Visitors are allowed during daytime hours. Visitors staying overnight in another person's reserved room must register with the FLBS main office. Note that additional charges may apply.

Is personal cooking allowed in FLBS rooms?

No cooking is allowed in or near FLBS lodging. Fires are also not allowed on FLBS grounds. Personal cooking is allowed in designated kitchen spaces only for groups with 10 or fewer participants.

Where can I get a key to my cabin or room?
