Montana Pesticide Stewardship Partnership Program

 The Montana Pesticide Stewardship Partnership Program (MT PSPP) aims to document baseline data on pesticides and
implement actions to reduce pesticides in surface waters and groundwater in the Upper Columbia River Basin in Montana and Parts of Idaho. Our goal is to have a lasting impact on the health and water quality of the upper CRB, recognizing that protecting the upper basin will also have a continued positive effect downstream. To meet our goals we will work with multiple partners throughout the basin to develop a network in order to make the greatest impact on our waters.

 

What to Expect

We have already started engaging multiple partners, including state organizations, tribes, and cities on many projects throughout the Upper Columbia River Basin. These projects will focus on building additional green infrastructure, informing best agricultural practices, assessing risks to human health from consuming fish, and developing outreach and educational materials and events to engage our communities. We want program and website this to be a hub for events, outreach and educational opportunities, information on the impacts of pesticides, recent news, and best management practices. We are extremely excited for this opportunity to support Montana and the entire Columbia River Basin, and will be updating the website regularly so check back for more information about our projects, partners and events. Many opportunities to engage with our program exist and we welcome collaboration and participation from any organizations, groups and individuals interested in joining our efforts. Some ways for people to get involved include actively participating in monitoring activities, sharing information and resources, and assisting in education and outreach efforts to inform communities throughout the basin.
