Research Interests

I am an environmental economist with interests in non-market valuation of environmental goods and services relying on both stated and revealed preference techniques. I have used the contingent valuation method to estimate the public's willingness to pay for improved water and air quality. Using hedonic methods, I've estimated the value of open space as observed from real estate transactions. 

Since arriving at the Flathead Lake Biological Station I've expanded my research to include assessing the economic impacts of zebra and quagga mussel invasion.  A corollary of my AIS research is an interest in evaluating the efficacy of various AIS prevention efforts including understanding why people behave the way the do and how we can design interventions that result in changing peoples behavior.
