About FLBS

Established in 1899, Flathead Lake Biological Station (FLBS) is internationally renowned as a freshwater mecca for ecology and limnology researchers and students.

FLBS programs are heavily reliant on private funding. FLBS is constantly seeking ways to develop and increase research and educational capabilities to continue to help solve local to global environmental issues.

Provides critical ecological information about local and global ecosystems and their interactions with society. Current priorities include Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring using environmental DNA, and our long-term river and floodplain research on the Middle Fork Flathead.

Contributing to this fund will help maintain the continuity of our 100-year legacy of Flathead Lake research and monitoring. Donations will ensure that your Flathead Lake stays beautiful, clean and clear.

FLBS Opportunity Fund donate online now

Invest in the FLBS vision by contributing to the Opportunity Fund. This fund allows the FLBS Director to distribute contributions to priority projects.
