The Flathead Lake Biological Station's annual
Open House is held each year in late summer.
The Open House is an annual event. The Open House allows FLBS scientists to showcase
their everyday activities, as well as to explain how this ongoing
ecology research benefits visitors, local and regional residents,
and the science of water quality as a whole.
Activities include tours
of Biological Station facilities, boat trips on our 30' research
vessel, the Jessie B, and exhibits of current and past
Station limnology and ecology research. You can browse through
our museum of Station history which stretches back to the
late 1800s, take a tour of the local flora and fauna (up to
85 different bird species throughout the year!), take a beach
hike out to Yellow Bay point, or just enjoy a sunny day with
the family on the shore of Flathead Lake .
If you have any questions about the Open House,
please contact us by email.
Please plan to join us this summer!
