Living and dining onsite at the Biological Station is required to allow full-time interaction between students, instructors and the world-class research program here.
Housing
There are a total of 40 cabins; 30 are double occupancy (12' x 14') and 9 are larger and accommodate four people (12' x 24'). The larger cabins are reserved for faculty. All cabins are heated and furnished with lights, electricity, two twin-size beds, chairs, desks, and closets. Rest room and shower facilities are located near the cabins. Housing is assigned on a first to apply basis for qualified applicants. Roommates are assigned by sex and consideration of shared preferences. (e.g., nonsmoker, etc.)
Note: All housing assignments are final.

Meals
Meals are required and included in your lodging fees. The Dining Hall will serve hot food for breakfast and dinner, Monday-Friday. Lunches are packed by each student during the breakfast hour and consist mostly of sandwiches, salads, and wraps. Fruit, granola bars, and various snacks will also be available during lunch pack up.
Saturday and Sunday meals are available to those students continuing to attend courses the following week. Since many students go off Station during the weekend, we have a signup sheet for those staying and needing meals. Meals for that weekend's breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepped with attention to dietary restrictions and packed for students to access in the Dining Hall.
Food for overnight camping trips are planned and prepped for the entire class by the kitchen staff, with consideration to dietary restrictions. We strive to provide the best quality food possible, but be prepared for food that is easily prepared in the field with limited time and equipment.
Note that while we can make accommodations for most reasonable dietary requests, we may not be able to accommodate all requests due to facility and resource limitations. Also note, that menus repeat -generally every two weeks. So, expect similar meals if you are here all summer.
Dinner will be provided for new/incoming students attending the summer program orientation meeting each Sunday before new classes start -
