Church Lab Manager
Jamison began working as a lab manager and postbaccalaureate researcher in the Church lab at FLBS in June 2024. He currently contributes to several initiatives themed around aquatic microbial ecology including the Schmidt Ocean Institute's Subtropical Underwater Biogeochemistry and Subsurface Export Alliance (SUBSEA), the Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (SCOPE), and a project investigating methane cycling in Flathead Lake funded by the National Science Foundation.
Jamison graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Earth sciences along with minors in microbiology and astrophysics. During his time at the University of Minnesota, Jamison developed extensive expertise in the fields of geomicrobiology and geochemistry and received several prestigious academic awards including the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and a NASA SUPPR internship. In his free time, Jamison enjoys reading, playing guitar, and engaging in outdoor activities such as running, swimming, biking, hiking, rock climbing, and stargazing.
