Eric began working for the Flathead Lake Biological Station in 1999 as the maintenance worker. He was promoted in 2001 to Resident Caretaker. In 2014, he was promoted to Facilities Manager. Eric and his daughter are full-time residents at the Station and his responsibilities range from overseeing the maintenance and improvements of the buildings, grounds, vehicles, boats and mechanical equipment to the operation and management of the facility's water system and wastewater treatment plant. He works with staff, faculty, and students to provide logistical and technical support for research projects at the Station and in the field. In addition, Eric provides FLBS and the surrounding community with fire protection as a Captain with the Finley Point-Yellow Bay Volunteer Fire Department. Personal interests include rafting, sailing, backpacking, telemark and cross-country skiing, hunting, rock climbing, and his children.
