Callie Nelson
2026 BSWC Interns
Callie Nelson
MMW intern
Callie is originally from Georgia and received a B.S in Ecology from the University of Georgia. Having grown up by the Blue Ridge mountains, Callie is excited to explore these new ecosystems and live close to mountains.
Callie is currently serving with the Monitoring Montana Waters (MMW) program which supports water monitoring efforts throughout Montana. The MMW program provides technical, financial, and scientific support to citizen-led watershed groups monitoring water quality in Montana. Callie will support citizen-led watershed groups with modifying their Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAP), training volunteers for sampling, holding outreach events, and visualizing the data from their test results.
You will often find Callie spending her free time hiking, skiing, painting outside, reading in her favorite coffee shops, enjoying yoga and rock climbing with friends, or going to open mic nights. She looks forward to learning from others, assisting other BSWC members and Flathead Lake Biological Station employees on projects, and contributing to volunteer activities in the area.
