About Adam

Adam joined FLBS in 2013 as the Freshwater Research Lab Manager, with the primary responsibility of running the laboratory. Adam moved to Montana from New Hampshire where he worked as a research scientist at the University of New Hampshire.

With fond memories of the mountains in northern New Hampshire, Adam and his wife Kelly decided to find a way to live near mountains again, relocating here in the Crown of the Continent. They love the dynamic research and recreational opportunities mountains provide, and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors whether it be backpacking, skiing, snowboarding, rockclimbing, canoeing or just spending an afternoon on the lake swimming with their lab Sadie.

Education

  • B.S., Environmental Chemistry from the State University of New York's College of Environmental Science and Forestry, 2005
  • M.S., Environmental Science and Policy from Plymouth State University, 2011

Research Interests

Adam's current research interests are in biogeochemistry of high elevation and remote surface waters that stems from his M.S. work. As a graduate student, Adam studied lake chemistry in the context of changing patterns of atmospheric deposition in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire and western Maine.
